Indonesia is a country with the largest Muslim population in the world with potential for the halal industry market. In accordance with the provisions of Law Number 33 of 2024 concerning Halal Product Assurance, products entering, circulating and traded in the territory of Indonesia must be halal certified. This is in line with the halal mandatory stated in Government Regulation Number 42 of 2024 concerning the Implementation of the Halal Product Assurance Sector. In addition to complying with regulations related to halal obligations, halal certification has important benefits for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises such as

- Products have a unique selling point;

- Providing guarantees or quality and halalness of products;
- Increasing product selling power and added value;
- Expanding product distribution network
In order to support the implementation of the Halal Product Guarantee Law and the Government's program to make Indonesia the number one halal product producer in the world, LPH BPSMB Surakarta has been officially accredited by BPJPH as of October 23, 2023 with the number A0066/TIM-AK/LPH-LHLN/RK.01.01/09/2023 supported by 6 registered halal auditors and is currently in the process of becoming the Main LPH.
